1 pkg yeast ½ cup warm water 1 tsp sugar Dissolve sugar in water. Sprinkle in yeast. Let set 10 min. 2 cups (heaping) rolled oats 2 tsp salt 3 tsp shortening ½ cup molasses 3 cup boiling water Pour boiling water over other ingredients. When lukewarm stir in yeast mixture. Add: 6 cups flour Spoon in flour to make a stiff (but not dry) dough. Mix in bowl. Do not knead. Dough will be sticky. Cover & let rise until double (2 hours). Put in pans & let rise again (2 hours). Bake 1 hour @ 375 - heat may need to be reduced to 350 for last 30 min.
